four best friends

Will -

You may not know it yet, but you already have four best friends! Their names are Jack, Lila, Addi, and Reaghan. They love you so much that they want to squeeze your face, and give you hugs and kisses!
They are going to teach you so much about Super Heroes, Princesses, Dora, and Lightning McQueen.

Jack will show you how to capture bugs in his bug catcher and how to fight crime like all the Super Heroes.

Addi will want to dress you up as Prince Charming.
Lila will teach you how to dance and sing.
Reaghan will show you how to climb and explore.

a little more background...

And I guess we need to go there. Will, some things you need to know about your (favorite) Mom.

While your Dad is always fashionable and dressed to impress, your mom has a different sense of style. Though she does like to dress up ever so often, your Mom is quite obsessed with a nice "hoodie" aka hooded sweatshirt! You will find her wearing one even in the summer.

Though she doesn't boast the same music collection as your Dad, she sure can sing. Well I don't know if she can actually sing, or if she just LOVES to sing. She sings to you all day every day, and you just LOVE it. Usually we make up songs about your toes, or your legs, or your cheeks, or your tummy, or your diaper... you name it, we sing about it.

Your mom is also quite the Baseball fan. She can't wait to take you to a game, or tell you stories about the time she got to meet Fredbird!

She is also quite obsessed with Caffeine Free Diet Coke. I didn't know there could be such an obsession, but she got hooked on it when you were in her tummy! You must have liked it, and so does she!

The number one thing you should know about your Mommy is that she has never felt the love that she feels for you. You have changed her life in the most amazing way, and she will do anything (even kill bugs) to make your life the very best it can be.

I love watching you grow!

background

Let's start with a little background, shall we. First of all Will, you are your father's son. You look so much like your Daddy, you may have your Mom's big eyes, but you have your Dad's everything else.

And speaking of your Dad, he truly is your biggest fan. Some things you might want to know about your Dad.

He is one heck of a dancer, and though he doesn't dance all that often, he sure can break it down!

He is definitely a music lover! Your Dad has more CD's than anyone i know! He may be one of the few people who still buys CDs today. (By the time you are old enough to read this, "compact discs" may be extinct, but you will have quite the collection of "antiques" from you Dad!)

He has a healthy obsession with jeans! Your Dad was once voted best dressed in High School! Quite the looker that man is, and if you are lucky, you'll get his sense of style!

He is also kinda obsessed with having a clean car. He washes his car about once a week, both inside and out, so when you ride with him, you'll inevitably be listening to good tunes, with a clean fresh scent lofting through the air!

He is the biggest hockey and Bluuuuues fan. Your Dad used to have hockey season tickets, but he gave that all up when we were expecting you. Now he gets to enjoy the games with you from home. Your Dad even grew a playoff beard to support the Blues in the first playoff round, but shaved his beard the morning you were Baptized. sidenote: go blues

the beginning

Let's start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. When you read you begin with A-B-C, when you sing you begin with do - re - mi ... Wait a minute, there I go singing again. Sidetracked once again, back to why we're really here.

Welcome to my family blog. This will be a blog to capture life's moments. This blog is meant to highlight the activities and experiences of our expanding family. This is for Will, so that some day, we can look back and remember every little detail!

Some things to note, I am a "researcher" by trade. I am a numbers person so if you see some typos, grammar or punctuation mistakes, you'll have to excuse me. My Mom (Nani) and sister (Jen) are "English/literature/grammar" people, so I'm sure they be happy to call me out. I'll try not to use "air quotes" too much, and sometimes I like EXCLAMATION POINTS!!! As I said, I am a numbers person, so here are some numbers of importance:

  • 1 -- favorite Mom... you tell me all the time!
  • 2 -- you were two months old when you started smiling
  • 3 -- the number of  "us" in our family (4 if you count the dog)
  • 4 -- the number of pounds you were when you were born
  • 5 -- the different size of outfits we had to upgrade to by the time you were 6-months old
  • 6 -- the number of cousins you will have by the time you are One Year Old
  • 7 -- months... How old you are now. My how time flies
  • 9 -- the month you were born: 09/29/2011
  • infinity -- the amount of love we have for you, Will

Welcome to this world, Will. You are loved more than you will ever know.
